Located in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Sticky Fingers can be reached from the Star Ferry terminus via what could a romantic stroll along the waterfront if not for a couple of noisy construction sites. As we entered the bar/restaurant we were struck by the mismatch of decorative themes; walls covered in an array of bright colors, aggressive lighting and a ceiling resembling that of an underground car park with giant pipes and a ventilation system running above. It's enough to bring on a bout of indigestion before you even begin to tuck in. We tried a tenderloin beefsteak ($140) and a half-pounder cheeseburger ($95). The steak was burnt on the outside and the cheeseburger proved an exceptionally dry and chewy affair. Small consolation was to be had with the accompaniments, a lovely mashed potato came with the steak and chunky beefeater chips complimented the burger nicely. The portions are American sized; we could barely move after our main courses, let alone consider dessert. The service was polite and efficient, a friendly, smiling waitress instantly appeared at the turn of a head. But good spuds and beautiful countenances do not make a good restaurant. If it's meat you're after there are plenty of better options.
