Kichi has been open 10 years on busy Cameron Road, but this small, cozy restaurant has managed to stay off the radar. It specializes in “farmhouse cuisine,” mainly simple stir-fry dishes and stews that Japanese farmers make day-in, day-out. It’s no-bullshit, simple goodness. If you like comfort food try the beef,  It was so soft and juicy that we kept wanting more. Kichi, of course, also serves the usual Japanese fare. The toro and sea urchin were both jet-fresh  Definitely one of the best Japanese meals we’ve had in a long time.
