Thanksgiving might be a North American tradition dating back hundreds of years, but our city’s welcoming the celebrations all the same with a host of festive feasts to commemorate the end of another successful harvest. The holiday falls on the fourth Thursday of November (that’s November 24 this year) for Americans (the Canadian version is in October). Remember to book your own turkey dinner at one of these venues:

Mandarin Oriental

Want to celebrate Thanksgiving at home with friends and family, but too lazy to do the cooking? Mandarin Oriental comes to the rescue with their take-away boxes at The Mandarin Cake Shop, where festive delicacies including turkey, stuffing, roasted pumpkin and various sides are all on offer. To wrap up the feast, treat yourselves to a piece of pumpkin pie, chestnut opera cake or salted butter pecan pie. Two days notice is required for all orders.
$1,688 for 10 to 12 people and $2,288 for 18 to 22 people. Available between November 10 to 25. The Mandarin Cake Shop, Mandarin Oriental, 5 Connaught Rd., Central, 2825-4008.

Liberty Exchange Kitchen & Bar

Renowned for its stylish design, casual comfort gourmet food as well as great services, this contemporary American restaurant is an ideal choice for young city slickers wanting to celebrate Turkey Day. A four-course meal will be served throughout Thanksgiving weekend, including traditional favorites such as turkey, chestnut with cheese, salmon with chorizo vinaigrette and pumpkin pie. To add that urban touch, complement the meal with a couple of yummy cocktails.
$450 per person. November 24 to 26. Liberty Exchange, 2 Exchange Square, 8 Connaught Place, Central, 2810-8400.

Ava Restaurant Slash Bar

Perched high on the 38th floor of Hotel Panorama, Ava is a newly opened restaurant that offers diners a classic yet cosmopolitan atmosphere with a stunning view. This year, Ava is putting a modern twist on the traditional Thanksgiving feast by re-packaging classics into innovative dishes. This festive meal includes baked potatoes with bacon foam, turkey with solid cranberry bars, ham with brown sugar, and Dijon mustard, and pumpkin agnolotti with beef. A glass of warm apple cider with a slice of baked pecan pie ends the evening on a high note.
$488 per person. November 24. Ava Restaurant Slash Bar, 38/F, Hotel Panorama by Rhombus, 8A Hart Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, 3550-0262.
