Good news for loyal George and Co. fans: the Victorian-style chill-out pad has been revamped with double the original floor space, an extended drinks menu and new entertainment options. The venue can now sit 110 and includes an open-air terrace for lovers of alfresco drinking. George and Co. virgins will be immediately struck by the elegance of its barrel-vaulted ceilings, Victorian encaustic tiles, mahogany furnishings and an elegant oval marble bar. However, the atmosphere is far from stuffy, George and Co. caters for all – from die-hard pub goers looking to retreat from the bustle of classic pubs; socialite sports fans looking to get glued to a plasma screen (the place has four); executives wanting a convenient and quick business lunch; and of course patrons of the Park Lane Hotel looking to enjoy an indulgent night cap. On six nights a week, starting at 9pm, you can enjoy a repertoire of classic tunes from resident singer Sabrina while enjoying a range of highly affordable signature cocktails, aptly named after the enigmatic George. Bring a date along to enjoy a serves-two “Giant George”; enjoy the fruits of “Sir George” or escape the summer heat with a “George’s mint.” George and Co. also offers an assortment of tapas, including Thai-style deep-fried cuttle fish dumplings, buffalo chicken wings, assorted sushi and grilled spicy pork sausages. But to top off a quintessential English experience, there’s nothing like sinking one’s teeth into a deep-fried Mars bar.
