The Waterfall Bar

The Waterfall Bar

January 29th, 2010

The buzz: The latest addition to the Grand Hyatt’s already impressive list of venues.

The ambience: The relaxing sound of the dramatic waterfall and the wind through the palm trees almost makes you imagine you’re in a tropical oasis, but the reassuring backdrop of skyscrapers lets you know you’re still in Hong Kong.

The music: The gentle splish-splash of swimmers passing in the pool mixed with chill spa-friendly tunes.

The drinks: The bar has a very specialized collection of champagnes and wines, hand-picked by the house sommelier, that will satisfy the needs of even the pickiest connoisseur. Specialties include Cuvée de Prestige, Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé and Blanc De Noirs. The charming bar staff also make a mean lychee martini and offer a range of exotic coffees—just what you are looking for after a day at the spa.

Why you’ll be back: For a slice of poolside tranquility in Wan Chai.
