Hawaii Five-Ooh
It’s the perfect way to kick off your summer spa routine! Let’spa is currently offering an “Alohe Oe” treatment promotion at just $980 for a two-hour spa ritual (original price $1,420). It starts with a “pina colada” body scrub and wrap, in which dead skin cells are rubbed away and stubborn cellulite duly scrubbed at with a gentle coconut and salt blend, before being wrapped in a warm, nourishing milk bath. Afterwards, you’ll get to try a Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi massage, in which pressure is applied in long, stretching strokes with the forearms, palms and elbows. Its gentle, rhythmic strokes are ideal for those who can’t deal with hardcore Chinese or Thai massage techniques.

Motion of the Lotion
We got to try Element the Skincare Centre’s new facial treatment the other day. The Ocean Moisturizing Facial is just what you need in the hot summer months to slough that grimy buildup off your face and freshen up the skin. Suitable for all skin types, it starts with a steam treatment and an extraction, followed by a soothing gel mask and aromatherapy face, neck and shoulder massage. And, as if you needed any more convincing, the spa is offering the 75-minute treatment at just $340 (usual price $680) from now until August 31.

Way to Glow
The lovely people at Glow Concept are also offering a summer special until the end of August, which includes an hour-long herbal milk facial treatment, followed by an hour-long Swedish massage, all for the princely sum of $488. The facial is designed to provide a moisture boost to dry skin, as well as brighten the complexion, while the gentle Swedish massage uses aromatherapy oils to soothe and relax. Book early to guarantee your appointment!

Scents and Sensibilities
The Peninsula has teamed up with spa consultancy ESPA to develop two brand new product lines to be used in their treatments. Blended with aromatherapy oils, the products are designed to complement your mood and either relax or invigorate. The relaxing blend uses a combination of ylang ylang, patchouli and cloves, while the refreshing blend incorporates lemongrass, rosemary and mint to re-energize and lift flagging spirits. The best news? If you decide after your treatment that you’d like to purchase the products, they’re available at the spa shop as a line of hair and body care products.

Objects of Desire
Waxing Lyrical
If, for whatever reason, you can’t bring yourself to hit a spa for your depilatory needs, then pick up a tub of Moom (and ideally, an understanding friend to help you hit those hard-to-reach areas). Made from sugar, water, chamomile and aloe vera, it promises to painlessly remove hair (well, relatively) without harsh, skin-irritating chemicals. There’s a special “for men” blend as well, which is better-suited to thicker hair.
$299 from Watson’s and CitySuper.

Four-Step Hair Care
A brand-new beauty counter has just been unveiled at Lane Crawford. The Philip B. hair care line is famous in Hollywood and beyond for its effective, botanical recipes. It just launched a kit that includes a deeply nourishing rejuvenating oil treatment, a peppermint and avocado clarifying shampoo, a crème rinse and a toning mist, all of which will leave your hair and scalp in mint condition.
$790 from Lane Crawford, IFC Mall, 8 Finance St., Central, 2118-3388.

Lipstick on your Collar
Lipstick Queen’s fun and kooky new lip-gloss line is this summer’s must-have item for the perfect pout. Inspired by Roman Polanski’s film, the “Chinatown” jumbo pencil-format glosses come in five different shades, all of them named after movie-related terms. $190, available exclusively at JOYCE Beauty .
