The buzz: Kennedy Town’s neighborhood local opens another branch in Sheung Wan.

The décor: Contemporary pub. The main seating area is tinted in deep earthy tones, while black and white photographs of old Hong Kong above the bar evoke a bit of nostalgia.

The crowd: Unpretentious neighborhood residents often frequent the afternoon happy hour, while the early evenings usually play host to after-work corporate types who work around the area.

The food: They say a menu is on the way, but for now there’s always Pepperoni’s and pho from next door.

The music: An eclectic mix of pop and rock, nothing too heavy.

The drinks: Several premium beers on tap, a rich assortment of wines and spirits, and a green apple martini that’s hard to beat.

Why you’ll return: The drink prices are a steal, while the service and the friendly neighborhood vibe is second-to-none.
