Find love on the menu this Valentine’s Day. By Dorothy So.

The way to anyone’s heart is through the stomach. So take advantage of all the couples-appropriate menus on offer and impress your sweetie with a swoon-worthy meal.

French Passion
Do Valentine’s Day the French gourmand way at IFC’s shiny new fine dining restaurant The French Window by sharing some unforgettable food and wine with that very special someone in your life. Chef Mickael’s “Passionné” V-day menu is sexy and sophisticated, opening with a broccoli veloute with caviar, followed by five other courses, including a perfectly pan-seared caramelized scallop with green cabbage compote. The menu will set you back $1,488 per person ($2,088 with wine pairing). Add in that dazzling floor-to-ceiling view of Victoria Harbour and there you have yourselves an all-out romance-laden evening. Shop 3101, Podium Level 3, IFC Mall, 8 Finance St., Central, 2393-3812.

Pure Romance
Pure Dining Group’s two outlets are taking full advantage of the lovey-doviness in the air this year by running their Valentine’s menu from February 1-21. RED Bar + Restaurant at Two IFC brings the sweeping Victoria Harbour view to lovebirds who want to enjoy their special night from high up and above. To go along with the view is a four-course menu ($988 per couple) featuring starters of prosciutto-wrapped scallops or pan-seared foie gras with granny smith apple and endive salad; entrées of beef tenderloin, ocean trout, duck breast or homemade herb linguine; and the ever-important chef’s dessert platter to share between two.

For a different atmosphere, go to see-and-be-seen RED SoHo right by the mid-level escalators. The $888 four-course menu for two takes an aphrodisiac start with fresh oysters, followed by a roasted tomato consommé, a main course and the dessert platter. Also part of the menu is a little complimentary something something from Showtime Lingerie for you to enjoy with your significant other. RED Bar + Restaurant, 4/F, Two IFC, 8 Finance St., Central, 8129-8882; RED SoHo, 2/F, Kinwick Centre, 32 Hollywood Rd., Central, 8199-8189.

Share the Love
The team behind the popular Italian restaurant and bar Goccia are believers of the “sharing is caring” philosophy. They’ve come up with a special menu for Valentine’s, which features three sharing portion courses for you to split with your sweetie. Start with the baby calamari with prawns and duck liver before moving onto either the “threesome” of stuffed pasta or the seafood platter entrée. Last but definitely not least, share the sweet and rich composition of chocolate “cremino” of white choco crème caramel and heartmeltingly delish liquid center dark chocolate flan. The menu is available for a week, from Feb 8-14, and is priced $398-$650.
73 Wyndham St., Central, 2167-8181.

Food Fantasia
Fall in love with the two 798 unit & co. Valentine’s Day menus. Both menus are six satisfying courses for you and your significant foodie. The pricier “Fantasia” menu ($648 per person) works its way from an oyster shooter with lime-wasabi granite amuse bouche to a dessert of Grand Marnier soufflé with crème anglaise. The “Romance” menu ($448) is no less delish, especially with its fantastic swordfish carpaccio appetizer and a perfectly cooked, buttery soft soy-sake caramelized black cod entrée choice. 1/F, 9 Hau Fook St., Tsim Sha Tsui, 2366-0234; Shop 1203, 12/F Food Forum, Times Square, 1 Matheson St., Causeway Bay, 2506-0611.

I Heart Heritage
It’s two weeks worth of love at The Pawn, who will be serving their five-course Valentine’s Dinner Menu from February 6-21. Not only does the revamped three-storey Chinese heritage pawnshop provide the perfect setting for a date to remember, the designed-for-two menu ($888) is a fantastic collection of heart-warming comfort food that should get any couple in a good mood. The evening kicks off with a glass of welcome Champagne and flows into no-fail courses, including pan seared foie gras, poached salmon with caviar, and beef tenderloin with truffles and red wine. February 14 diners will also be treated to a special V-day welcome cocktail upon arrival and DJ and dancing will also be happening from 7-11pm at the restaurant’s Living Room. 62 Johnston Rd., Wan Chai, 2866-3444.

Mediterranean Love Affair
Chef Ryan Crawford of the recently opened Zelo at Pacific Place joins in the Valentine’s Day fun with his modern Mediterranean V-day menu ($498 per person). Perfect for eco-conscious couple, Zelo’s menu features many sustainable, environmentally-friendly ingredients. The dinner is seafood-laden, opening with aphrodisiac oysters followed by lobster prepared two ways, grilled kingfish, and an angel hair pasta with smoked eel. Carnivorous couples should dive into the fifth course of Dakar spiced lamb rack with harissa pumpkin puree before falling back into the sweet romantic food-embrace of the dessert tasting platter, specially designed for lovebirds to share. Shop 007, LG1, Pacific Place, Admiralty, 2918-1028.

Meaty Desires
Nothing spells love like a big hunk o’ beef, and this year, you can satisfy all your carnal cravings at Steik World Meats at K11 Mall. The newcomer meat specialist is doing a four-course sharing menu for Valentine’s Day ($1,256 per couple), which features – of course – an international repertoire of premium grade beef. Start with the generous appetizer platter followed by a beef broth with shiitake and Wagyu sirloin. Then move onto the main course choices, which allow you to chow down on a “Duo of Beef” of Wagyu ox cheek and pepper roasted tenderloin, or a huge ‘n’ hefty Aussie grain-fed, dry-aged prime rib served on the bone. The dinner caps off in true gluttonous fashion with a dessert tasting platter, which includes gush-worthy warm chocolate fondant, choco-raspberry cheesecake, and other sweet treats. Shop 14, 3/F, K11 Mall, 18 Hanoi Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui, 2530-0011.

Sugar Sugar
The Mira Hotel transforms into a sugary sweet bazaar on Feb 14. The team at award-winning Yamm has prepared a special dinner buffet for Valentine’s night ($680 per person), which kicks off at 6pm. But the real highlight is the post-dinner Aphrodisia Dessert Buffet ($380 per person). Available starting from 10pm, the dessert spread features Willy Wonka-esque glass jars of colorful confections, decadent cakes and a pastel assortment of other sweet delights.  The Mira, 118 Nathan Rd., Tsim Sha Tsui, 2368-1111.

Single and Fabulous
The lovey-dovey couples out there might want to check out Harlan’s indulgent Valentine’s dinner ($980 per person). The six-course lineup starts on a high with an elegant martini glass of slow cooked lobster with cauliflower puree, tomato jelly and basil oil. Other highlights off the menu include the handcrafted truffle chestnut fettuccine with confit duck leg and foie gras terrine and the sugary cute fruit “minestrone” with honey cake and raspberry parfait dessert combo.

And don’t think Harlan’s has left out all the single ladies and gents out there. They’ve reserved an exclusive harbor view private dining room for singles bookings. So dress to impress and get ready to mingle... you might just meet that someone special. Shop 2075, Podium Level 2, IFC Mall, 8 Finance St., Central, 2805-0566.
