Dakota Prime
Dakota Prime
November 28th, 2008The buzz: Dakota Prime takes the steakhouse out of the usual mahogany boy’s club and places it in a gleaming eatery suitable for carnivores and dainty socialites alike.
The décor: The restaurant is divided into a bar and main dining room, the latter of which is bright, sparkly and welcoming, with chic shades of beige and delicate mirrors and light fixtures.
The drinks: The bar is run by Solas, so expect a sophisticated range of cocktails. There’s also an impressive wine rack offering affordable wines by the glass and obscenely extravagant bottles.
The food: Classy surf and turf. The seafood bar whips up fresh and generous platters and the turf includes American Angus, bone-in porterhouse, and Japanese wagyu, among others.
Why you’ll be back: An extensive menu with all the classics done well. And it’s not just the cooked steaks that are delectable. Try the Kobe tataki or Angus beef tartare to sample the delectable meats in their rawest form.
