The buzz: A gloriously spacious, dark, sleek space on Hillwood that isn’t a teenage karaoke lounge or dice bar. Wow.

The décor: Walk through the nondescript black glass door and you’re immediately struck by the enormity of the space, the dark grays of the cozy couches and the swellegant browns of the armchairs. The massive bar of molded concrete and minimalist light bulbs hanging from the high ceilings gives the venue a moody feel, like a distressed, arty Japanese or European urban boite.

The music: Light jazz, new age, Joanna Wang.

The drinks: Try their signature cocktails, like the Screaming (vodka, peach liqueur, fresh blueberries, pear and pineapple) or the Promising (vodka, lycheee liqueur, grapefruit, pineapple and cranberry, but tastes like guava!) Or down delicious shooters like Black Voice Queen (Bacardi 151, tequila, sambuca), Sexy Fxxker (vodka, cassis) chased with an Erdinger draft.

The crowd: Low-fi hipsters and the well-heeled TST flock.

Why you’ll be back: Privacy and quality service on Hillwood.
