Bed & Breakfast at the Four Seasons
What you get A night at Hong Kong’s only six-star hotel in a deluxe harbour-view room, breakfast for two the following morning and the run of all the very elegant facilities.

What it’s like The room is the epitome of luxury – an insidiously comfortable bed, 42-inch plasma plus DVD player and a massive bathroom with your very own set of double-doors to fling open post-ablutions. There’s also an incredible wall-to-wall view of the increasingly built-up Central coastline and the bright lights of Kowloon. Breakfast is complimentary: order in-room or enjoy it in The Lounge – no trough-like buffet at this classy joint; instead, you can order anything from a big fry-up to a Chinese breakfast off the a la carte menu.

Best bit The marbled giant of a bathroom – rainforest shower, deep soaking tub and its very own flat-screen TV. Neat. Right on your doorstep is one of Hong Kong’s best Japanese restaurants (Inagiku, Podium 4) and its finest French (Caprice, Podium 6) for you to enjoy.

Mix and Match at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental 
What you get One night at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental, plus your choice of two perks: one from the “mix” list (late cancellation, room upgrade, bottle of champagne, cheese or fruit platter or afternoon tea at MO bar) and one from the “match” list ($600 spa voucher, three-course dinner in MO Bar or Amber, limousine airport transfer, bubble bath with a bottle of champagne or 4pm checkout)

What it’s like Understated luxury. The large space features three flat screen TVs – including one in the bathroom that faces the huge, marble, circular tub (with ample space for two). But what we love most are the little touches – the luxury dark chocolate truffles and aromatherapy oil that materializes at turndown time, the port to plug your own iPod into the surround-sound speakers, the luxury toiletries in the rainforest shower and the complimentary wine, fruit and snacks on the coffee table. Breakfast is a mini buffet at MO Bar, which includes the freshest fruits, pastries, dim sum, cold cuts and a cooked breakfast.
 
Best bit Running a huge bubble bath and losing yourself in it. You can even book a super deluxe bath for two – rose petals, champagne, caviar, candles, the works. If you can afford to part with around $38,000, that is. Plus, the huge, comfortable bed, crisp sheets and blackout curtains gave me the soundest sleep I’d had in a long time. Oh, and if you’re into spas, make sure you get the voucher from the “match” list – the Mandarin’s facilities are hard to beat.

Plateau at Grand Hyatt
What you get Grand Hyatt’s Plateau spa has 23 in-residence rooms that are completely separate from other rooms in the hotel, meaning that you can enjoy a spa session and then stay the night there. Each room stay comes with free access to the pool and gym, a complimentary 60-minute in-room massage, evening cocktails and in-room breakfast.

What it’s like Plateau has its very own front desk and the rooms are completely private, so you can have a truly relaxing city break there. Once you get past the double doors, the room opens up into a futon bed, which doubles as a massage bed on one side, and a bathroom, complete with a rain shower and giant bathtub on the other. Best of all, the room has a balcony facing Victoria Harbour, which you can enjoy sipping on a pot of herbal tea, post-massage.
 
Best bit The massage. It’s strong enough to relieve stress but at the same time so unbelievably relaxing that I fell asleep. Even better, instead of being shooed back to your room afterwards, you can just lie there and doze all evening.

Patio Room Package at the Intercontinental 
What you get Private access to Hong Kong’s most famous view – courtesy of a third floor room with a private patio at the Intercon. The deal also comes with your choice of a healthy breakfast or full American breakfast, either at the pool deck or on your private terrace, sunset cocktails and canapés, a choice of a couple’s spa suite massage (30 minutes use of the suite’s facilities followed by an hour’s massage, or an hour-long couple’s “Balancing Body Ritual” in an outdoor spa pool cabana).

 
What it’s like It goes without saying that the view from our room was simply spectacular. The deck felt totally private, leaving us to enjoy the evening uninterrupted. We took the poolside cabana for the massage and afterwards dozed in the shade all afternoon.

Best bit Duh, the view. Besides, the only way to enjoy the perennial cheese-fest, “Symphony of Lights” is with a couple of stiff drinks and a face full of snacks.

Chuan Infinity Package at the Langham Place Hotel 
What you get One night in the “Chuan Residence” spa-inspired room,
1.5-3 hours enjoying a spa treatment of your choice, access to the Langham Hotel Club (read: complimentary cocktails and breakfast), an optional dinner, and access to the gym and heated
rooftop pool.
 
What it’s like A “spa-inspired” room is less cheesy than it sounds. Think less about massage tables and more about big, downy beds and a massive bath complete with sauna. The rooms are all on the same floor as the hotel’s spa, so after your treatment, it’s not too difficult to stumble back down the hall to your bed.  
 
Best bit Full access to the gym and rooftop pool. If you’re going to go for a spa weekend getaway, you may as well pretend to be healthy and get some exercise in. Or, of course, you could forgo that altogether and take in the contrast of luxury and madness by hitting the Mongkok streets below.
 
Price $3,599-$8,399, depending on the size of the room and the length of your treatment, and whether or not you need to be picked up and taken there in a limo.
